Power Semiconductors and Applications Center (PowerSAC) is a newly established R&D Centre in 2026 under the SEAM@InnoHK, dedicated to advancing next‑generation wide bandgap (WBG) semiconductor technologies. Led by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and working in collaboration with leading universities and industry partners worldwide, PowerSAC drives pioneering research to accelerate the commercialization of next-generation power semiconductor technologies and to deliver sustainable, high‑efficiency power solutions for the future.
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic professional who excels in a dynamic and multitasking environment to join our team as Assistant Manager (Finance) to provide financial management and planning support. The position will be based at the Hong Kong Science Park in Shatin, with occasional travel to the University’s Clear Water Bay Campus as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
The appointee will be responsible for:
- Budget Management: Assist in managing and overseeing the Centre’s budget, including annual budget planning, financial reporting cycles, and development of budget plans to support Centre's development
- Operations & Control: Oversee daily financial and accounting functions, ensuring effective budgetary control, fund monitoring, and timely processing of financial transactions such as reimbursements, invoices, and related financial transactions in compliance with institutional policies
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, manage cashflow and forecasts, and conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision‑making for Centre's development
- Project Expenditure Monitoring: Track project expenditure and financial performance against approved budgets and funding allocations, ensuring effective use of resources and compliance with funding requirements
- Procurement Oversight: Handle and oversee procurement processes, ensuring compliance with the established policies, practices, and statutory guidelines
- Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with the Finance Office and relevant stakeholders to facilitate financial processes and support financial audits
- Compliance & Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate financial data, proper records for finance, inventory, and fixed asset, and ensure compliance with statutory and funding organization requirements
- Ad‑hoc Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Centre Director or designated delegates
REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related disciplines with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably gained from higher education institutions, public sector organizations, or sizable organizations
- Hands on work experience in project administration or budget management is an advantage
- Holder of professional accounting qualifications such as HKICPA, ACCA, or an equivalent
- Proficiency in ERP system and PC applications
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Mandarin and Cantonese)
- Meticulous, self-motivated and work efficiently under tight timelines
- A good team player with a strong sense of responsibility, a problem-solving mindset, and excellent organization, execution, interpersonal and communication skills
REMUNERATION AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Salary is highly competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of the contract (Duration: 2 year, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement)
The appointment is expected to commence as soon as possible.
