The Center is seeking highly enthusiastic, self-motivated, dynamic, and academically excellent candidates to fill several Post-doctoral Fellow positions in various related fields.

HKCRC is an innovation research center aiming to bring advanced robotics and AI technologies to the construction industry. Jointly established by Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), University of California, Berkeley (UCB), and Tsinghua University, we conduct transformative research and nurture innovative engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions and prototypes to tackle immediate and emerging industrial and societal challenges in construction.

Currently, the Center is conducting projects in but not limited to the following directions:

  • Robotics SLAM

  • Robotics Motion Control

  • Robotics Decision Planning

  • Machine Learning, Image Processing, Computer Vision

  • Multi Sensor Fusion (Visual, Lidar, IMU, etc.)

  • Robotics Mechanical Structure Design

  • Embedded System

 

Job Description

The primary responsibility of the post-doctoral is to investigate and develop innovative solutions and prototypes in the field of construction robotics. The post-doctoral will also need to support project-based innovative engineering teaching and supervise course-based projects.

 

Requirement

  1. A strong background in a related engineering subject (preferably in CSE, ECE, MAE, etc.) having completed a Ph.D. degree.

  2. Very strong problem definition and solving skills.

  3. Preferably teaching/learning experiences in innovative engineering, industrial or product design; able to lead hands-on tutorials; successful industry or start-up experience is a plus.

  4. Very good communication skills of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin).

  5. Able to work independently and collaboratively.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

Salary is highly competitive of international standards and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.

The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract, and is renewable subject to performance, mutual agreement, and funding availability.

The appointment is expected to commence as soon as possible.
