Hong Kong Space Robotics and Energy Centre Limited (HKSRE) is a new InnoHK R&D Centre established in January 2025 specializing in developing multifunctional operation robot with mobile charging capability. With The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) as the leading institution in collaboration with local and international institutions, HKSRE aims to contribute to national space missions, promote the application of space technology and advance aerospace research and development in Hong Kong.

We are seeking a seasoned professional and executive in leading, formulating and implementing the administrative function of HKSRE. The Head of Administration will assist the Directors and Senior Management to provide strategic leadership for HKSRE.

 

major responsibilities

  1. Manages all administrative aspects, including finance & accounting, procurement, HR and monitoring of operating budget and expenses, in the Research Center
  2. Develops and implements operating procedures and policies for the Research Center from scratch
  3. Leads a team of professional staff and support staff to provide a full range of administrative functions that are commensurate with and responsive to the needs of the Center
  4. Being the key contact person of internal offices and external stakeholders to ensure a smooth and efficient day-to-day operation
  5. Coordinates with external parties such as academic/industrial partners and government where necessary in support of the Research Center’s business
  6. Undertaking special projects as assigned

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in business administration or equivalent. The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of post-qualification work experience at managerial level, preferably in academic institutions or R&D Centers.
  • Experience of budget management of projects and regular operations is also required. Demonstrated experience/ exposure in higher education environment is desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills, superior interpersonal and organizational skills, and analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Proven management skills to produce quality work under pressure and tight timelines.
  • Excellent team-player with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to handle tasks independently.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua).

 

Remuneration and COnditions of Service

Salary is highly competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract with a duration of 2 years or above, where applicable.

(Duration: 2 years, renewable subject to performance, mutual agreement, and funding availability)

The appointment is expected to commence as soon as possible.
