Hong Kong Space Robotics and Energy Centre Limited (HKSRE) is a new InnoHK R&D Centre established in January 2025 specializing in developing multifunctional operation robot with mobile charging capability. With The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) as the leading institution in collaboration with local and international institutions, HKSRE aims to contribute to national space missions, promote the application of space technology and advance aerospace research and development in Hong Kong.

 

responsibilities 

  1. Responsible for the design of navigation algorithms for robots or self-driving cars, with functions such as localization and autonomous path planning.
    负责机器人或自动驾驶汽车导航算法设计，包括定位与自主路径规划等功能。

  2. Optimize the performance and stability of navigation and guidance algorithms to improve the precision and accuracy of system.
    优化导航算法的性能和稳定性，提高导航系统的精度和准确性。

  3. Conduct simulation and testing of navigation and guidance algorithms, analyze the performance of algorithms in different scenarios and make improvements.
    进行导航算法的仿真和测试，分析算法在不同场景下的表现并进行改进。

  4. Familiarize with navigation equipment such as inertial measurement unit, star sensor, etc., and carry out hardware system tuning and debugging.
    熟悉惯组、星敏等导航设备，开展硬件系统联调。

 

Requirements

  1. Degree (Master or above) in computer science, automation or other related disciplines, with experience in navigation system design and development.
    计算机科学、自动化或相关专业硕士及以上学历，具备导航系统设计和开发经验。

  2. Familiar with commonly used navigation and guidance algorithms and data structures, good programming skills and algorithm optimization ability.
    熟悉常用导航算法和数据结构，具备良好的编程能力和算法优化能力。

  3. Solid mathematical foundation and logical thinking mindset, able to solve complex algorithmic problems independently.
    具备扎实的数学基础和逻辑思维能力，能够独立解决复杂的算法问题。

  4. Good team player with communication skills, be responsible and able to work under pressure / in a fast-paced environment.
    良好的团队合作精神和沟通能力，有责任心和抗压能力。

  5. Experience related to spacecraft, robotics, self-driving car navigation guidance is a plus.
    有航天器、机器人、自动驾驶汽车导航制导相关经验优先。

 

Remuneration and COnditions of Service

Salary is highly competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  The appointment is expected to commence as soon as possible.
